Damien Shen is a rich man – not necessarily in terms of money, but culture. The South Australian artist has Chinese and Aboriginal bloodlines. His ancestry has often been the subject of his work.
Now, as part of OzAsia, he joins forces with Badiucao, one of the most prolific artists and political cartoonists in China: his work challenges the nature of censorship and the freedom of the internet. Curated by Coby Edgar, these two artists’ works question concepts of identity, culture and who we are in our modern region.
The exhibition will be on show from September 8 to November 11, at Nexus Arts, Lion Arts Centre, North Tce & Morphett St, city. Entry is free
