Fashion Trendsetters

The Adelaide Fashion Festival is a highlight of South Australia’s social calendar. Three trendsetters talk up the annual event, taking place October 19-23.

Nicole Bonython-Hines

“The festival gives the public a view into a world that’s rarefied – this event is not only for industry but it showcases an international calibre of runway show to the general public who want to go. SA’s fashion industry has a lot of diversity and a lot of great talent. Some brands are very particular to SA while others are very much international and have broad appeal.”

Megan Irwin

“Last year, I was able to come back home to walk exclusively for Paolo Sebastian. It was a dream show, with the exquisite gowns and overall styling of the show comparable to any other major fashion event I have worked in around the world. The AFF offers a chance for anyone interested in fashion to see both established and new South Australian designers.”

“Having its own fashion festival has given SA a platform to showcase a rather quiet-achieving industry, albeit one that is full of energy, diversity and unique talent. Last year’s event was inspirational and wonderful to be part of. It gave me the confidence and leap of faith I needed to realise the value of my brand and the following and support that I have locally and nationally.”
